Dear Friends,

Families First Health and Support Center, where many of our guests receive medical and dental services, has been chosen as one of 16 finalists, nationwide, competing for five $20,000 grants from Tom's of Maine! The five winners will be chosen based on an online vote. They really need this grant to provide dental care to homeless people!

Click here to vote for Families First and to learn about how they'll use the grant to expand dental care for homeless people. Also, please click here  if you would be willing to get an email reminder to vote again once a day until the contest ends on March 12. Having people vote "early and often" is their best hope for competing with all the big-city organizations in the contest(Your email will not be shared or used for any other purpose.)

Thank you!

Web note: The Tom's of Maine website has this under the "Dental Health" link, not the Community Projects link.

Seacoast IHN Name Change Signifies Growth and Opportunity:

The Board of Directors for Seacoast IHN recently voted to change our program name to Seacoast Family Promise. The name change process will be implemented in 2010. This change is aligned with the growth of our program as well as our national affiliate, Family Promise.

Family Promise encompasses; the IHN program providing shelter, meals, and support services to homeless families; Just Neighbors educates communities about poverty; a Family Mentoring process that we have incorporated, reaching out to volunteers who work with our former families to strengthen their stability in the community; and Community Voices which mobilizes volunteers and former guests as advocates for public policy.
The e-mail address will remain the same!

Welcome

SEACOAST INTERFAITH HOSPITALITY NETWORK (SIHN) is a network of volunteers from various faith communities demonstrating their strength of compassion and generosity, putting faith into action. Through donations of time and funds, Seacoast IHN provides a safe place for families to turn for immediate food, shelter, and social services. Participating congregations reach out to families in crisis offering guidance and encouragement while preserving the dignity of families as they take important steps to regain independence. More than eighty percent of Network guests secure permanent housing.

Our Mission
